Healthy Homes

Healthy Homes identifies and addresses health risks inside homes and community buildings, like mold, poor ventilation, pests, and structural hazards. Through home assessments, education, and low-cost improvements, this project empowers families in low-income and rural areas to create safer, healthier living environments.

About the project
Vision

A world where every person, regardless of income, lives in a home that supports, not harms, their health.

Target Population

Healthy Homes serves low-income families and residents in rural or structurally vulnerable housing, including informal settlements and overcrowded dwellings. The project also supports schools, clinics, churches, and community centers in high-need regions by identifying environmental risks and promoting safer indoor spaces for everyone.

Expected Outcomes

The project increases awareness of how housing conditions affect health and empowers residents to take meaningful action. As a result, participating families experience improved air quality, reduced exposure to environmental hazards, and fewer illness-related issues — especially among children and the elderly. The initiative also generates valuable data to influence public health and housing policy, while building community capacity to sustain safer living spaces.

Health starts where we live.

"Where we live, work, and play has more to do with our health than the doctor’s office.
