Polk County Youth Risk Reduction Coalition

The Polk County Youth Risk Reduction Coalition is a community-based prevention initiative focused on reducing substance use and related risk behaviors among adolescents in grades 9–12 in Polk County, Florida.

Clear Future serves as the coalition’s primary programmatic initiative, providing the operational framework for youth engagement, education, and prevention activities.

Vision

A generation of youth in Polk County equipped to make informed decisions, reduce substance use risk, and support one another in building a healthier future.

Target Population

The program’s primary target population is high school students (grades 9–12) in Polk County, Florida. Indirect beneficiaries include parents and caregivers, school staff, and other community stakeholders involved in youth prevention efforts.

Expected Outcomes

The program seeks to increase students’ awareness of substance-related health risks, strengthen peer leadership that promotes healthy decision-making, enhance parent–school communication, and contribute to reducing substance use initiation risk among youth.
